Know About Delhi:
Old Delhi has more importance from the point of view of history, whereas New Delhi is the center of attraction for everyone due to new features. Being the capital of the country, trains, buses, planes etc reach here from all parts of the country. ,
We have been taken on behalf of our school to visit Delhi in the month of February. There were ten students, our history teachers were with us. It is believed that this red stone fort was built by Shah Jahan. Before Delhi, the capital of the Mughals was Agra. This Red Fort is not only associated with the history of the Mughal dynasty, but its importance for independent India is also no less.
Reminiscences of Netaji Subhash-
Seeing the Red Fort, the memory of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose arose. He had resolved to hoist the flag of his nation on this fort and now every year on Independence Day, by hoisting the tricolor flag, he broadcasts his message to the nation from here. The trial of the heroes of the Azad Hind Army was also conducted in this fort. Now here is the National Museum, in which many objects of historical importance have been displayed.
Chandni Chowk and Qutub Minar –
In front of the Red Fort is Chandni Chowk. This is also an important market of the time of the Mughals. Its importance has not diminished even now. From here we reached Qutub Minar in a bus. Many historians are of the opinion that Qutub Minar was built by Qutubuddin Aibak, but some other historians consider it to be a pole pillar built by an Indian emperor. According to his opinion, it was built to study the constellations and planets according to the rules of astrology. They relate it to an open observatory called ‘Jantar Mantar’ built at some distance, where elaborate arrangements have been made to know the motion of constellations etc. Seeing ‘Jantar Mantar’ we were amazed at the scientific vision of our ancestors.
Now we went to Birla Mandir. An attempt has been made to make this temple a symbol of national unity by relating it to gods and great men of all sects. Here we also had our food.
Now we went to see the Parliament House, Secretariat and Rashtrapati Bhavan. Fortunately, the Mughal Gardens of Rashtrapati Bhavan were open for visitors. This garden filled with innumerable flowers captivated our hearts. Beautiful peacocks and deer were roaming here. After staying there for about an hour, we returned to the hotel.
Rajghat and Shanti Van –
After rest for sometime we went to Rajghat and Shanti Van. Here they paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru respectively. Also went to Vijayghat to see the Samadhi of Late Lal Bahadur Shastri. On our way back we also visited Jama Masjid. From here all the people sat on scooters and went to Connaught Place. Delhi. All the beauty of the place comes here in the evening.
